Training would focus on how to set the stage for entering into a positive relationship with the families from the first encounter and throughout the care. The Family Development Credential (FDC) and the Family and Community Development (FCD) Credentialing models will be explored as ways to help make positive changes in their lives that improve outcomes.

Healthier Lifestyles for People with Diabetes

Since the prevalence of disability is high among persons with diabetes this teleconference will address the use of evidence-based physical activity interventions-such as the Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program, Active Living Every Day, Strong for Life, Fit & Strong and Enhance Fitness. Participants will learn the goals of each program; training eligibility, length, procedures and cost; how to choose the appropriate program for their target audience(s); monitoring and reach requirements; and program outcomes.

Helping Parents to Be Leaders
Several innovative efforts are currently underway in Illinois that provide training for parent leadership and involvement. This teleconference would provide an overview and introduction to the Parent Leadership Training curriculum offered by the Illinois Family Partnership Network (IFPN) and the Parent Café technology offered through the Strengthening Families Illinois program.

Fiscal Accountability
This training will provide Division (as well as Department) Providers with the tools necessary to manage fiscal responsibility as outlined by the Division of Contract Administration. Topics will include effective budget management, maintenance of appropriate documentation, cash flow management, and compliance with contract requirements.

The Illinois WIC (Women, Infants and Children) Program provides a variety of nutritious foods. This presentation will review the value of these foods and provide tips for shopping for these items, especially fresh fruits and vegetables
