Continuing Education Units & College Credit Information

The Community Health Training Center has a collaborative relationship with Oakton Community College (OCC) in Des Plaines, IL. Continuing Education Credit is provided by OCC.

Oakton Community College is an accredited provider of continuing education in nursing by the American Nurses Credentialing Center on Accreditation. Registered Nurses will be eligible for contact hours upon completion of any course. One Contact Hour is based on 60 minutes of instruction.

The American Dietetic Association (ADA) has also approved Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits for Registered Dietitians and Registered Dietetic Technicians for CHP, Frontline, Integrated, WIC and WIC Coordinator training.

Oakton Community College is approved by the Illinois Department of Professional Regulations as a continuing education sponsor for Social Workers.

The CEU is a nationally recognized unit to provide a record of an individual’s continuing education accomplishments. One CEU is based upon 10 clock hours of instruction.

At the bottom of each course page, the approved number of Contact Hours and CEUs are noted next to "OCC" for Oakton Community College.
